It is our goal to provide the best possible internet experience for all of our customers using uncapped services and as such we reserve the right to manage uncapped users in order to achieve optimal performance for all clients across our network. We may contact you from time to time to make changes in order to receive the best possible internet experience.
The available capacity and the performance of our network is evaluated regularly. If available capacity is under pressure we will manage customer’s accounts where necessary in order to give all customers the best possible internet experience.
The Fair Usage Policy is applicable to all uncapped users and states as follows: An Uncapped package is identified by 2 markers – a speed marker and a usage marker. Speed markers indicate how speed will diminish based on the specific package details – example 4/2/1/0.5 Mbps. The usage marker indicates what is considered “fair” usage for the price of the specific package, example 5GB/5days.
The Uncapped connection speed at any given time is determined by calculating data usage for the days identified in the usage marker – meaning that every half hour the system calculates the usage from that very moment back for the term of the days identified. In the example of 5 days the system will look back 120 hours from that moment and calculate all data used in that period. If the total usage is less then the data usage marker (5GB in this case) the maximum speed in the speed marker would stand – in this case 4Mbps. If the total usage in the period is more than 1 x data marker but less than 2 x data marker (in this case 5GB & 2 x 5GB) the second speed is active – in this case 2Mbps. If total usages is more than 2 x data but less than 3 x data the third speed is active – in this case 1Mbps. If the total usage is more than 3 x data the forth speed becomes active (in this case 0.5Mbps) and will be active for any amount of usage thereafter. Note: maximum speeds are best effort.
Uncapped is designed primarily for large amounts of data download and does not carry priority on our network, like capped accounts. Speed throttling will only recover as the total usage in the period identified decreases to the “fair” limits. If overuse continues – speed will remain at the forth marker – even beyond month ends!
